Environmental recovery of a former industrial area according to the criteria of an eco-sustainable design with zero impact and mixed home/residential destination.
Considered one of the land irremediably marked by degradation and pollution, the area of the Ex Sparvol (or Sparvoil) was interested in an intervention decided by the Municipality of Milan for the safety of the aquifer through a pumping action / water filtering, and a capping system on the whole extension of the land. The project drawn up by the studio has thought of recovering the hydrothermal energy of the stratum (forbidden in other and different contexts) to meet the energy needs for the production of hot and cold of eighty new units mostly for artisan use. The system, also operating with monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic panels for the autonomous operation of the machines in a heat pump, therefore indicated the way for a design with passive criteria and systems for energy containment for direct and indirect gain such as: orientation and correct distance of the buildings based on seasonal solar irradiation, solar systems in wood and aluminum mounted on projecting balconies, ventilated facade, roof garden and pund roof.
The particular situation of the site has influenced not only the urban composition but also the architectural one and its own language. The three craft buildings “rest” at high altitudes on the car park plate covered with autoclaved larch planks, which acts as a ventilated filter between the thick reinforced concrete slab of the ground capping and the living area. With the mono tenant office building, they have all their own construction features and functions, highlighting the nature of the materials in their semi-finished state, from the fine grain size of the white plaster to the aluminium wood structures of the sunshades and the green roofs of the garden.
Recupero ambientale di un area ex industriale secondo i criteri di una progettazione ecosostenibile a impatto zero e a destinazione mista artigianale/ residenziale
Considerato uno dei terreni irrimediabilmente segnati da degrado e inquinamento, l’area della Ex Sparvol (o Sparvoil) era interessata ad un intervento deciso dal Comune di Milano per la messa in sicurezza della falda acquifera tramite una azione di pompaggio/filtraggio dell’acqua, e di una sistema a capping su tutta l’estensione del terreno. Il progetto redatto dallo studio ha pensato di recuperare l’energia idrotermica della falda (vietato in altri e diversi contesti) per soddisfare il fabbisogno energetico per la produzione di caldo e freddo di ottanta nuove unità a destinazione per lo più artigianale. Il sistema, operante anche con pannelli fotovoltaici al silicio monocristallino per il funzionamento autonomo delle macchine in pompa di calore, ha quindi indicato la strada per una progettazione con criteri e sistemi passivi per il contenimento energetico a guadagno diretto e indiretto come: orientamento e corretta distanza degli edifici in base all’irraggiamento solare stagionale, sistemi brise soleil in legno e alluminio montati su balconi aggettanti, facciata ventilata, tetto giardino e roof pund.
La particolare situazione del sito ha influito oltre che sulla composizione urbana anche su quella architettonica e sul proprio linguaggio. I tre edifici artigianali si “appoggiano” in quota sulla piastra dei parcheggi rivestita in assi in larice trattate in autoclave, che funge da filtro areato tra la spessa soletta in c.a. del capping del terreno e la zona abitabile. Con la palazzina per uffici mono tenant, si presentano con tutte le proprie caratteristiche e funzioni costruttive evidenziando la natura dei materiali allo stato semigrezzo dalla granulometria fine dell’intonaco bianco, alle strutture in alluminio legno dei frangisole al verde in copertura dei tetti giardino.
